 Landon L. Poff

I'm a writer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist living in Los Angeles.

Originally from Oklahoma, I moved to L.A. in 2003 to find a life in music. After playing in bands and other recording projects, I found myself working in film and television, in set decoration. This environment fostered freedom and creativity, usually diminished by most professions. It took years to realize how influenced by film score (and the broad musical spectrum at large) my entire life has been. Since even before rational thought, there was harmony.

My first instrument was my voice. I spent my earliest years in church choir groups, and later in chamber and honor choirs. I always gravitated towards musical instruments, and first was piano. This is still one of my great loves. After piano, I found the guitar, and later bass guitar, then drums and percussion. Some of my earliest pastimes experimenting  with these "paintbrushes", and different vibrations' relationships to each other, are still among my favorite things to do.

So much of my life is lived in studio.

And since having players at your disposal isn't always feasible,

I usually try to write, perform, and record all of the instruments I'm able to, alone.

I needed to find efficient ways of getting the sounds I wanted. Plus, I'm just wildly interested in the recording process itself.

My inner world of fully realized songs, orchestral arrangements, waves of harmony,

and never-ending soundtracks to this life and my dreams are where I choose to live and breathe.

Perpetually floating through these quiet, hidden "locations" in my mind provide constant inspiration, insight, stimulation, and personal entertainment.

...like a secret river of sound, emotion, and color.

Thunderbird Theater is a vehicle

for all of these creative flavors to find a home under one roof.

welcome.
